Content
Club career
A youth career began at the Varzim Club Academy, where Netu spent eight years. In the summer of 2006, he signed a contract with the club, for which he played for five years. He played in 53 matches, although at one time he fell into disgrace and for a long time settled in the reserve squad.
In the summer of 2011, Neto received an offer to move to the Nacional club Funchal , who played in the elite division of the championship. In the 2011/12 season, Neto quickly established himself in the starting lineup and helped the club to take seventh place.
In the summer of 2012, the Portuguese first went abroad, becoming a player in the Italian club Siena . He played 4 matches for the Portuguese youth team. In October 2012, he first received a call to the Portuguese national team.
February 1, 2013 signed a contract with the St. Petersburg " Zenith " [2] . The transfer amount amounted to 7 million euros. He made his debut in the club on February 21 in the match of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League against Liverpool [3] .
