History
When, as a result of the Manchu conquest of China, Ordos was divided into 6 Hoshuns in 1649, these lands became part of the Hoshun Ordos-Zoyihoutsi (鄂尔多斯 左翼 后 旗), later renamed Dalad-Qi.
In 1914, Suiyuan Special Administrative Region (绥远 特别 行政区) was allocated from Shanxi Province, and the khoshun became part of it. In 1928, Suyuan Special Administrative Region was transformed into Suyuan Province.
In December 1949, a khoshun from direct subordination to the government of Suiyuan Province became subordinate to the newly formed aimak Ih-Joo. In 1954, Suyuan Province was disbanded, and aimak became part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In March 1958, part of the territories of Dongsheng County was transferred to Hoshun Dalad Qi.
On April 30, 2001, the aimak Ikh-Joo was transformed into the urban district of Ordos.
Administrative Division
Hoshun Dalad is divided into 6 street committees, 7 villages and 1 somon.
