Club

Heyda Fofana is a pupil of the Le Havre football club. He made his debut on August 18, 2009 in a League 2 match against Tours , replacing Cedric Basei at the 78th minute of the meeting [5] . On November 27, 2009, the midfielder scored the first goal in his professional career (in the match of the 15th round of the championship against Ajaccio [5] ). Geida Fofana played for Le Havre until the summer of 2011, when he moved to Lyon Olympic .

The midfielder first played for Lyon on September 14, 2011 in the Champions League match against Ajax [6] . In the 2011/12 season, Heyda Fofana as part of Lyon won the French Cup and the League Cup finalist . The following season, Fofana scored his first goals for Lyon. In the group stage match of the Europa League against Hapoel from Kiryat Shmona) , played on October 4, 2012, the midfielder scored twice [7] , and on January 25, 2013 he scored a goal in League 1 (in the match against Valenciennes [8] ) .

On January 18, 2017, the 25-year-old midfielder announced the end of his professional career due to chronic ankle injury [9] .

Geida Fofana played for the youth teams of France of various ages. As part of the national team until the age of 19, he took part in the European Championship-2010 victory for the French (4 matches). A year later, participated in the youth world championship ; at the tournament, the midfielder played 7 matches and scored 2 goals (against the peers from South Korea and Nigeria ) [10] .

As part of the youth team of France, Fofana made his debut on February 28, 2012 in a friendly match with the Italians , replacing Josua Gilavoghi in the 77th minute of the meeting [11] . In his next match for the youth team, the midfielder scored a goal against the Chilean team [12] .
