Peter Slot ( niderl. Peter Sloot ) - Dutch scientist, a specialist in the field of supercomputer technologies and distributed computing from the University of Amsterdam .

Scientific Activities

Peter Slot has been a professor of computational sciences at the University of Amsterdam since 2002, and since 2011 he is a distinguished professor. His research interests are aimed at trying to uncover computational processes in structures of various scale, living systems. Peter Slot is the editor in chief of two scientific journals of the Elsevier publishing house.

In 1990, he created a research group to work in the field of computer modeling , primarily information modeling of dynamically complex systems, such as the model of the spread of HIV. Slot is also the leader of two EU large-scale research projects, ViroLab and DynaNets, and works in various projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).

Participation in the Russian Megagran Competition

In 2010, P. Slot received a research grant from the Government of the Russian Federation in the amount of 150 million rubles. A grant laboratory was created at the St. Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics with the aid of a grant. [1]
