“ Paint Box ” (from the English - “ Paint Box ”) is a Pink Floyd song recorded on the second side of the 1967 single “ Apples and Oranges ” [1] [2] , which was published in Europe , South Africa and New Zealand , but not released in the United States [3] [4] . The author of the music and lyrics is Richard Wright , who is also the performer of the vocal part. “Paint Box” was Wright's first composing work in Pink Floyd [4] [5] [~ 1] .

About composition
In addition to the single “Apples and Oranges”, the song “Paint Box” was also recorded on the collections of The Best of the Pink Floyd 1970 [6] [7] , Relics 1971 (titled “Paintbox”) [8] [9] , Masters of Rock 1974 [7] [10] , The Early Singles 1992 (published as part of the Shine On box set) [5] [11] 1967: The First Three Singles 1997 [12] , in addition to the song “Paint Box "Was published on the third disc in the 2007 release for the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn [13] .
In 1968, after leaving Sid Barrett's band , the guitar parts in the Paint Box were performed by David Gilmore at concerts. The performance with Gilmore’s group is presented, in particular, on the promotional video of the song “Paint Box”, filmed for Belgian television in February 1968 [14] [15] .
