Putilovets (excavator)

Putilovets - Russian steam excavator .

It is a railway type steam excavator . Produced at the Putilov factory since 1903 according to the drawings of the American company Byucyrus (Bucyrus) . A total of 37 excavators with buckets with a capacity of 1.9 and 2.29 m³ were built before 1917.

Subsequently, this excavator was taken as the basis for the development of the design of the Kovrovets excavator, the production of which was adjusted at the NKPS excavator plant in the city of Kovrov since 1932.

Productivity - up to 243 m³ / hour. In the years 1913-1916. during the construction of the Bologoye-Polotsk railway with a bucket with a capacity of 2.29 m³, it produced up to 3000 m³ in a 12-hour shift. In 1906-1916 "Putilovtsy" used in the construction of railways - the North-Donetsk , Siberian, Kazan-Yekaterinburg, Petersburg-Oryol, Murmansk .
