Azantha ( Abkh. Azanҭa , cargo. აზანთა ) is a village in Abkhazia , in the Gulrypsh region of the partially recognized Republic of Abkhazia , according to the administrative division of Georgia , in the Gulripshsky municipality of the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic [1] . Altitude is 640 meters.

Azantha was seriously affected by the waves of Mahadjirism in 1864 and 1866. Indigenous people left the village. Subsequently, Armenian immigrants began to settle in it.
The surnames lived before mahajirism in Azant: Tsvatsva (nobles), Revutaa, Agrba, Tarba, Butba, Molaa, Kvadzba, Lilaa, Lakoba [ significance of fact? ] .
In 1959, 121 people lived in the village of Azantha, mostly Georgians (in the Azan village council as a whole - 778 people, also mostly Georgians, except mainly the Armenian villages of Ablukhvara and Kelasuri ) [5] [6] . In 1989, 10 people lived in the village [4] , also mostly Georgians [7] .
