Biography

After graduating from the Rostov Radio Technical College and serving in the Armed Forces of the USSR in 1976, he graduated from the Department of International Journalism of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MGIMO).

From 1981 to 1987 he worked at the World Federation of Democratic Youth (Budapest), being its vice president.

In 1987-1989 - First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Youth Organizations of the USSR .

In 1989-1991 he worked in the International Department of the CPSU Central Committee.

Since 1991 - Director of the Center for International Programs, since 1995 - Vice President of the Social Ecology Fund; In 1993-1996, he was the chief editor of the Reform magazine of the International Fund for Economic and Social Reforms; Since 1998 - Director of the Moscow representative office of ESG Intelligent Reinsuranse.

Since 2000 - Deputy Chairman of the FMS, in 2007 was elected President of the Federation of Peace and Accord.

He conducts scientific, teaching and informational activities, is a candidate of political sciences [1] , associate professor of the Department of Political Science and Political Management of the Russian Presidential Academy of Public Administration for International Relations, professor at the Slavic University of Moldova. He is the author of numerous monographs and scientific articles on the problems of peace and international security.

His research interests include: modern political processes in the world and international relations; participation of civil society institutions in the formation of international cooperation; processes of integration and disintegration in the system of modern international relations.

  • Member of the Scientific Council at the Security Council of the Russian Federation;
  • Member of the Russian Public Council for International Cooperation and Public Diplomacy 2012 under the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation [2] ;
  • Member of the Board of the Russian Association of Political Science;
  • Member of the Russian Pugwash Committee under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (since 2009);
  • Member of the National Civil Council for International Affairs;
  • Member of the Liaison Committee of the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organizations of the Council of Europe (since 2006).
  • Head of the section “International Cooperation, Civil Diplomacy, Peacekeeping Movement” of the Council of Non-Governmental Organizations under the State Duma of the Russian Federation (1993-2003)
  • expert in the official Russian delegation at the 65th session of the UN General Assembly (2009—2010).
  • was a member of the Coordinating Council of the socio-political association " My Fatherland " (1995) [3] .

Awards, prizes and titles

He was awarded the Order of Friendship [4] , the medal “For Labor Valor” , a number of public awards, including the order of “Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky” and the order “Peacemaker” (World Charity Alliance “Peacemaker”).

He was awarded the sign “Security Council of the Russian Federation” for his active work in the Section on Global Issues and International Security of the Scientific Council under the Security Council of the Russian Federation in 2011 [5] .

Family

Lives and works in Moscow. Married, wife - Kamyshanova Irina Nikolaevna, daughters Marina and Ekaterina.
