The village is located directly on the federal highway P104 in the section Rybinsk - Poshekhonye . It has two main streets, one directly on the road, the second perpendicular to the road east of it. On the north side of the village begins an unnamed stream, which flows west, crosses the road, flows from the north of the village of Sidorkovo and the Petrovskoye tract and flows into the Rybinsk reservoir [2] . The village is located at a distance of 21 km from Rybinsk. The nearest village in the direction of Rybinsk is Savinskoye (2 km), in the direction of Poshekhonya - Ogarkovo , the center of the rural settlement (4 km). Around Dymovsky and Savinsky is a small plot of agricultural land, beyond which a swampy forest stretches [3] .

Dmitry Ivanovich Smirnov , Hero of the Soviet Union , squadron commander of the 431st assault aviation regiment was born in the village on 08/09/1918 [4] .

As of January 1, 2007, there were 67 permanent residents in the village [5] . A post office in the village of Volkovo serves 61 houses in the village of Dymovskoe [6] .
