The Russian modern pentathlon championships are the main ones in Russian competitions and are held under the auspices of the Russian Modern Pentathlon Federation. In 1992, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the CIS Championship (Commonwealth of Independent States) was held instead of the USSR championship.
Since 1993, the Russian Championships in modern pentathlon for men and women have been officially held. Championship awards are played in personal, team and relay races.

* Eduard Zenovka is the only pentathlete who is the champion of the USSR (1990) and the winner of the Russian Championship (1998) in the individual championship.
Women
- Ekaterina Boldina Moscow "Trade Unions" -Planernaya - the first champion of Russia in modern pentathlon among women, a pupil of Olympic champion Viktor Alexandrovich Mineev , coaches: Kartashov A. M. , S. I. Mironov .
- The most titled pentathlon in Russia :
Tatyana Muratova Moscow βDynamoβ, coach - A. Haplanov , she won the title of Champion of Russia - 5 times.
- The 3-time champion of Russia is Donata Rimsaite .
- 2-time champion of Russia - Anna Buryak
- Boldina Ekaterina - is the only pentathlon who managed to win the title of champion of the USSR (1988) and champion of Russia (1993) in the individual championship.
