Andrena ornata (lat.) - a rare species of bees from the genus Andrena (family Andrenidae ), listed in the Red Book of Crimea [1] .

Distribution
Russia (Volgograd, Samara and Orenburg regions, Bashkiria, Crimea - Kazantip reserve and at Cape Chaud) [2] , Kazakhstan (Karaganda, Tselinograd regions), Small Caucasus .
Description
Length 9-11 mm. The body is black, shiny. The pubescence of the head, chest and sides of the tergites is white or gray-white, sometimes with an admixture of dark hairs. The wings are slightly darkened. Clypeus is convex, in the middle brilliant. The middle of the scutellum is almost not pubescent, shiny. 2 and 4 tergites of females on the sides with distinct white spots of hairs, the length of which decreases from the second to the fourth. The apical margins of sternites have a fringe of white long hairs [2] .
There are two generations a year, it flies from early May to mid-September. A generational break occurs in July. Trophic connections: the first generation is found on the flowers of various plants, and the second - on the flowers of Crinitaria villosa (L.) Grossh ( Astrov family ). Nesting features are unknown [2] .
