Life before the beginning of the musical career
Born and raised in Sevastopol . His father left his mother, Svetlana Ajus and Dmitry, when his son was 5 years old. Dmitry since his childhood had a passion for street art like graffiti , break dance and martial arts such as boxing and taekwondo . At the age of 6, he began studying violin in the music school. He began to rap at the age of 15 and was part of the rap group “Zapadnya”, was a member of the clan “Key”. He left the Tavrichesky National University of Vladimir I. Vernadsky in the 3rd year, where he studied at the Faculty of Economics and at the age of 19 moved to Malta .
2010: Shake It and the Malta Music Awards
At the very beginning of 2010, Dimal released her first single, "Shake It", recorded with the participation of vocalist Maddy from the UK , who soon became a big hit, which was accompanied by a good start to a career in Malta. The song also became very popular on Myspace and in just 3 months it reached more than 3 million auditions [1] , which later led to the nomination Best Hip-Hop / R'n'B Artist at the Malta Music Awards among such artists as Muxu , Kristina Casolani and Tea Saliba , where in the end he won the award [2] , which was handed over by the MOBO Awards CEO Kanya King . Also this year, Dimal performed at the opening of two international artists Ja Rule and Flo Rida when they gave their big concerts in Malta .
2011: “Go Low” and Eurovision
The single “ Go Low ” [3] was also recorded with vocalist Maddia released on August 17, 2011. A few days later, the track hit the radio rotation of all Maltese Radio stations but only lasted a few weeks. Also in October, Dimal was invited to work on a Eurovision track with Maltese singer Debora Sy , they flew to Germany in Munich to record a song [4] , which was produced by German producer Ralph Seagal .
2012: “Let's Make It Happen” and the Bay Music Awards
In the summer of 2012, Dimal teamed up with Maltese singer Linzi Pach and together they released the track “ Let's Make It Happen ”. The track led the local and international radio stations and made its way to fairly high positions including Malta Top 10 Charts , PRS Top 40 Charts , Urban Top 20 and so on. Most local and international DJs picked up the song very quickly and added it to their playlists. High positions on all radio stations in Malta for 20 weeks lead to the Bay Music Awards , where Dimal was nominated for Best Debut [5] . Later the song was nominated for another award as the best single of the year on the MMI Listeners Picks Poll which is calculated annually by the Maltese TV and radio host Tony Sant .
2013-Present: IPMA
In January 2013, Dimal was nominated for the International Portuguese Music Award (IPMA) in two categories: Best Dance Song [6] [7] (Let's Make It Happen) and Audience Award [8] . The show will be held on February 2, 2013 at the Zeuterion Theater in New Bedford , USA .
