Vespernitsa [3] , Hesperis , night violet [4] [5] ( lat. Hésperis from other Greek Ἓσπερος - Venus) is a Mediterranean-Central Asian genus of biennial and perennial herbaceous plants of the Brassicaceae family [6] .

Content
Botanical Description
The leaves are whole or pinnate.
Sepals are straight, with a saccular base. Petals are lilac, yellowish, or white with long nails. Ovary sessile, column short, stigma bilobate.
Fruits are linear, cylindrical, or weakly tetrahedral, slightly flattened bivalve pods [6] .
Distribution
Eastern Mediterranean, Central Europe, Central Asia.
Taxonomy
The genus Vespers is more than 50 species [7] . About 11 species were found within the former USSR [6] .
