Biography
In 1591, his father decided that his youngest son, Johann Casimir, should receive the county Neukastel in the Palatinate-Zweibrücken as apanage . However, after the death of his father, in 1611, the eldest son Johann II , who became a county palatine, concluded an agreement with Johann Casimir. By agreement, Johann Casimir received Neukastel Castle (next to Linesweiler ) and an annual rent of 3000 florins from county incomes. Similarly, Friedrich Casimir , the middle son of Johann I, received Landsberg Castle with small neighboring lands (instead of apanage over Landsberg entirely), as his father bequeathed. These lands constituted the principality of Palatinate-Cleburg .
