Military cemetery No. 47 - Koněčna ( Polish Cmentarz wojenny nr 47 - Konieczna ) is a military cemetery located in the village of Konečna in the commune of Usce-Gorlick , Gorlice County , Lesser Poland Voivodeship . The cemetery is part of the group of West Galician military graves from the First World War . Military personnel of the Austro-Hungarian and Russian armies who died during the First World War in January - March 1915 are buried in the cemetery. Historical monument of Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
Content
History
The cemetery was founded in 1915 according to the project of the Slovak architect Dusan Yurkovich . In a cemetery of 55 square meters there are 3 mass graves in which 18 Austro-Hungarian and 108 Russian soldiers are buried.
On June 25, 1994, the cemetery was included in the register of historical monuments of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship (No. 747).
Description
The military cemetery is located near the Orthodox Church of St. Basil the Great in the parish cemetery. The cemetery is surrounded by a stone fence about 50 centimeters high. Two gravestone crosses were restored at the cemetery, on which the plates with the number “1915” are nailed.
