Berezniki (in historical literature in connection with the ancient settlement - Bereznyaki ) is the village of the Oktyabrsky rural district in the Oktyabrsky rural settlement of the Rybinsk district of the Yaroslavl region [1] .

The village is located in the north of the rural settlement, on the left high bank of the Sonokhta River, about 1 km from its confluence with the Volga . On the opposite bank of the Sonokhta River is an urban village of Pesochnoe . At a distance of about 1.5 km to the north-west is the village of Panfilki [2] .
The official "List of historical and cultural monuments of the Rybinsk region" shows an archaeological monument 3 km west of Berezniki: the village of the 11th – 13th centuries. [3] . However, the Bereznyaki settlement , dating to the 4th – 6th century and located northeast of the village at the mouth of Sonokhta, is much more famous. The hillfort was investigated in detail by P. N. Tretyakov in 1934-1935.
Boulders at the mouth of Sonokhta, northeast of Berezniki, are declared a protected natural monument.
As of January 1, 2007, there were 5 permanent residents in the village [4] . A post office located in the village of Pesochnoe serves 26 houses in the village of Berezniki [5] .
