Origin

According to The Velvet Book , Nazar was the son of Semyon Danilovich from the Glebov family , who knew their ancestry from the Moscow boyar Mikhail Yurievich Sorokoum , a descendant of the Prince of Kazedzh Rosedy. However, after comparing the life period of Nazar Semenovich Glebov with chronological dates related to his alleged ancestors, this origin is very doubtful. Moreover, the list of Palace ranks for 7135 [1626/27] with a description of a local dispute was preserved - which indicates that Prince Redigi (Rededi) had two sons and both childless [1] .

Biography

Initially, Nazar Semenovich Glebov served the last Grand Duke of Ryazan, Ivan Ivanovich ( 1500 - 1521 ). In 1517, the Grand Duke of Ryazan Ivan Ivanovich, who tried to maintain the independence of the Ryazan principality from the Grand Duchy of Moscow , entered into negotiations with the Crimean Khan Mehmed Geray and even intended to marry his daughter. The Grand Duke of Moscow and the Emperor of All Russia Vasily III Ivanovich , learning about the secret negotiations of his assistant Ivan Ivanovich Ryazan with the Crimean Khan, decided to arrest the latter and annex the Ryazan principality . Vasily III Ivanovich invited the Ryazan prince to come to Moscow. At first, Ivan Ivanovich Ryazansky did not want to go to Moscow , but fellow boyar Semyon Korobin convinced him to accept the invitation. The Ryazan prince arrived in Moscow, where he was immediately captured and imprisoned, accused of treason and connections with the Crimean khan. Moscow governors with garrisons were sent to all cities and fortresses of the Ryazan principality .

In 1521, during the invasion of the Crimean Khan Mehmed Gerai to Russia, Prince Ivan Ivanovich of Ryazan was able to escape from Moscow to the Ryazanshchina , hoping with the help of the Tatar army to regain his father’s princely throne. Ivan Ivanovich sent two messengers with a message to his supporters in the Ryazan region . However, his agents were intercepted, and the prince himself did not receive the expected support from the Ryazan boyars and was forced to flee to Lithuanian possessions. The captured Ryazanets Dmitry Sunbulov reportedly tortured that he had to go to Ryazan "to Mishurin and to Klementy Kobyakov, and to Fedor Sunbulov, to Nazar Semenov, son of Glebov and his brother , and to Oduvan; but he told me to tell them to have him in the Desert, or in Shumash, or in Dubrovitsy . ”

Subsequently, Ryazan Nazar Semenovich Glebov was in the service of the Grand Dukes of Moscow Vasily III Ivanovich and Ivan Vasilyevich Grozny . In 1530, N. S. Glebov was the fourth governor " in Ryazan outside the city ." In the next 1531, he served as the second governor in a guard regiment in Ryazan. August 25, 1538 - the sixth head “for parcels” in the advanced regiment under the command of Prince Vasily Andreyevich Mikulinsky near Rostislavl, in 1540 - the second governor in the advanced regiment near Ryazan .

In 1541, Nazar Semyonovich Glebov was in the province of Zaraysk . In the same year, the Zaraisk governor N. S. Glebov successfully repelled the attack of the Tatar horde led by the Crimean Khan Sahib Geray . The annalistic narrative about the feat of N. S. Glebov ends like this: “ And 9 Tatars, Nazar Glebov, sent them alive to the Grand Duke .”

In 1543 - 1544, Nazar Glebov served in the rank of the hundredth head. In 1552 he participated in the campaign of the Russian army under the command of Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich to the Kazan Khanate , the siege and the assault of Kazan . According to the Kazan chronicler , after the capture of Kazan, the tsar ordered the " wise men " to go round and count the number of killed Kazan and Russians. The royal order was quickly executed by the governor of the Ryazan land, Nazariy Glebov, “ wise and cunning to the countable number ”: he counted, “in a single hour ”, “ in no time ”, more than 190,000 killed Kazan citizens of both sexes and all ages and 15,355 Russians.

In the spring of 1553, Nazar Semenovich Glebov was sent to Moscow with news of the military operations of the tsar’s governor, sent by the tsar to the final conquest of the Kazan Khanate . In 1556 - 1557, together with Ivan Petrovich Yakovlev, he was in the Voivodship in Dedilovo .

In the pedigree of the noble family of the Glebovs , descendants of Oblagini, a certain Nazariy Semenovich Glebov, the Totem governor in 1548 , the brother of Gleb Semenovich Yakovlev, the ancestor of the Glebov family, is mentioned .
