Development Concept and History

In August 2009, The Walt Disney Company , which owns ABC , acquired Marvel Entertainment for $ 4 billion and soon Disney's CEO announced plans to include the studio’s media franchises on its industry platforms, including television ^[14] . After several unsuccessful attempts with scripts for television versions of a number of comics, finally, in July 2012, Marvel Television entered into a partnership with ABC to create a TV show in the Marvel Cinematic Universe . There were no plans for any particular comic, and the whole idea came down to the scenarios of a police show with a “high concept” ^[15] .

In August 2012, it was announced that the director of the movie “ Avengers ” Joss Whedon took the place of the author of the development, one of the executive producers, as well as the director of the pilot episode ^{[16] [17]} . A few weeks after this, ABC immediately ordered the filming of the pilot ^[16] and, according to Whedon, the series will exist independently from the Avengers franchise so that it can be watched by those who have not previously watched the studio’s projects. Filming
