Atlistac ( Spanish Atlixtac ) is a municipality in Mexico , the state of Guerrero , with an administrative center in the city of the same name . The population according to the 2010 census was 26,341 people.

General information
The name Atlixtac from the Nahuatl language can be translated as: on white water [3] .
The area of the municipality is 573 km², which is 0.9% of the state’s area [4] . It borders with other municipalities of Guerrero : in the north with Auacuocingo , in the northeast with Kualak and Tlapa de Comfort , in the east with Kopanatoyak , in the southeast with Sapotitlan Tablas , in the south with Akatepec , in the west with José Joaquin de Herrera and Chilapa de Alvarez [5] .

Economic activity
According to statistics from 2000, the able-bodied population is employed by sectors of the economy in the following proportions: agriculture, livestock and fishing - 61.5%, industry and construction - 15.4%, services and tourism - 16.3% [4] .
Infrastructure
According to 2010 statistics, the infrastructure is developed as follows [4] :
- electrification: 88.5%;
- water supply: 65.4%;
- water disposal: 40.2%.

- archaeological zones north and south of the municipal center, related to the Olmec culture .
