History
Millbrook polygon was built in the 60s and early 70s by Vauxhall, following the example of the landfill in America, Milford Proving Ground, Michigan . The two-mile (3 km) five-lane high-speed ring road began to be used in 1969, while the construction of other sections continued. [one]
In 1988, the landfill was registered as the company Millbrook Proving Ground Ltd (Millbrook), which was owned by Group Lotus ( Lotus ). Millbrook began offering landfill services commercially and not just to the parent company. With the sale of Lotus in 1993, Milbrook was sold to GM Holdings UK Ltd as an independent management company and began to diversify into all aspects of vehicle testing.
