Story
The film simultaneously tells two stories. One of them takes place in modern Montreal, where a divorced woman initially tries to remain true to her illusions about the inviolability of the union of two halves: she and her ex-husband. The second part of the plot develops in the late 1960s in Paris , where a single mother devotes herself entirely to taking care of her son with Down syndrome. These two stories are unexpectedly connected by means of a woman who is suffering from separation, which helps her to reconcile with the departure of her beloved man in the final of the film. Through the struggle with her psychosis, she was able to admit to herself a lie, which she naively believed her whole life, finally burying her faith in blind romantic illusions about the destiny of men and women. She dared to acknowledge the fact that her ex-husband had absolute freedom from herself, despite having two children in common.
