Mouse for SNES

Mouse for SNES with mouse pad

The Super NES Mouse is a peripheral accessory released by Nintendo in 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) [1] . Originally planned for use with the Mario Paint game, it was sold complete with the game and a plastic mouse pad. Shortly after the release of the mouse, other games with support appeared.

Although the device looks and works like a standard two-button computer mouse , it was much smaller than the computer mice of those times, and also had a significantly short wire compared to the standard SNES gamepad .

Compatible Games

A significant number of games supported the mouse for SNES. The mouse was also supported by the Super Game Boy accessory [2] . Some games released after the release of the mouse for SNES, for example, Tetris & Dr. Mario and Kirby Super Star warn the user that the mouse is not compatible with this game.
