Front ( VI century ) - the holy hermit from Passet . Memorial Day - October 25th .
The Holy Front (Front de Passais) was a hermit in Normandy . His name is the village of Domfront (Domfront (Orne)).
The saint retired to the dense forests of Passe (Passais) around 540 , where he built a chapel . Soon, the locals who lived in scattering in the forests began to convert to Christianity . Many of his students formed a village near his hermitage. According to legend, before the arrival of the saint there was a pagan temple of Ceres , which was destroyed. After the death of the saint, the village turned into desolation, in which it remained until 1011 . At this time, Guillaume I Bayem erected a chateau there, "in order to stop the inhabitants of Le Mans (Manceaux), with whom there was an ongoing war."
