Biography

Maria Jacob von Zeringen was born on June 25, 1507. The exact place of her birth is unknown. She was the daughter of Margrave Philip I of Baden and Elizabeth of Pfalz , daughter of Elector Philip of Pfalz and Margarita of Bavaria-Landshut .

On October 5, 1522 in Munich, Maria Jakoba married the Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria , the son of Albert IV of Bavaria and Archduke Kunegund of Austria . The arch of 1523 in the courtyard of the castle of Burghausen, decorated with the arms of the Bavarian and Baden houses, testifies to this wedding. The marriage was happy and four children were born in it.

Maria Jacob of Baden died on November 16, 1580 in Munich.
