Biography

Victor Danilchenko was born on January 7, 1922 in a farm [Mnogopolny] (now defunct) of the former Alexandrovsky village council (now the Krasnogvardeisky rural settlement, Kanevsky district of the Krasnodar Territory) into a peasant family. He graduated from secondary school No. 5 in the village of Staroderevyankovskaya. In 1941, Danilchenko was drafted into the Workers 'and peasants' Red Army in. 1942 he graduated from infantry school Buynaksk August. 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic war he took part in the battles in the Kuban region by April.. 1944 Lieutenant Guard iktor Danilchenko commanded the machine-gun platoon 319th Mountain Rifle Guards regiment of the 128th Mountain Division Guards Independent Coastal Army . He distinguished himself during the liberation of Sevastopol [1] .

In April 1944, during the fighting on the outskirts of Sevastopol, Danilchenko, at the head of a group of scouts, penetrated the enemy’s position and caused panic in his ranks with the fire of machine guns and machine guns. The actions of the group allowed the coming units of the regiment to capture more than 800 enemy soldiers and officers. During the counterattack of the German infantry and tank units, Danilchenko replaced the injured company commander and in hand-to-hand combat liberated the village of Omega (now within the boundaries of Sevastopol). He died of wounds received in battles on May 2, 1944. He was buried in Sevastopol [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for “the courage, courage and heroism shown in the fight against the German invaders” of the guard, Lieutenant Viktor Danilchenko was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Orders of Lenin and the Red Star [1] .

The bust of Danilchenko is installed on his native farm, his name is assigned to the school in which he studied [1] .
