Content
History
On October 14, 1965, the Holy See established the apostolic prefecture of the Western Transvaal, separating it from the diocese of Johannesburg.
On February 27, 1978, Pope Paul VI issued the bull Rerum catholicarum , which transformed the apostolic prefecture of the Western Transvaal into the diocese of Klerksdorp.
On June 5, 2007, the Diocese of Klerskdorp transferred from the Metropolitan Pretoria to the Metropolitan of Johannesburg.
