Regimantas Vaitkusovich Adomaitis ( lit. Regimantas Adomaitis ; born January 31, 1937 , Šiauliai , Lithuania ) is a Soviet Lithuanian film and theater actor . People's Artist of the USSR ( 1985 ), laureate of the State Prize of the Lithuanian SSR (1982), Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and the Arts (2014) [1] .

Biography
Regimantas Adomaitis was born on January 31, 1937 (according to other sources - March 31 [2] ) in Šiauliai .
In 1954 he entered the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Vilnius University and in 1959 completed his studies, but since 1958 he began to study at the acting faculty of the Vilnius Conservatory (now the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater ). In 1962 he received an actor’s diploma.
In 1962 - 1963 - actor of the Drama Theater Kapsukasa (now Marijampole ). In 1963 - 1967 - in the troupe of the Kaunas Drama Theater .
Since 1967 - actor of the Lithuanian State Academic Drama Theater (now the National Drama Theater of Lithuania ) ( Vilnius ).
He played in other theaters, including the Vilnius Maly Theater , the Russian Drama Theater of Lithuania (Vilnius), the Baltic House ( St. Petersburg ), and the Creative Association DUET ( Moscow ).
In 1988 , he was a member of the Initiative Group of the Lithuanian Movement for Perestroika (Sajudis) . People's Deputy of the USSR (1989-1991).
