Biography
Born in the family of a German colonist. He graduated from the Chisinau real school, then in September 1898 entered the service. In 1900 he graduated from the Kiev Military School . From school released a second lieutenant (08/09/1900).
Service in the Russian Imperial Army
He served in the Sofia 2nd Infantry Regiment . In 1907 he graduated from the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff in St. Petersburg . Headquarters Captain (05/07/1907).
After the census command of a company in the 6th Grenadier Tavrichesky Regiment ( 11/06/ 1907-07.11.1909), he was appointed senior adjutant of the headquarters of the 8th Siberian Rifle Division , later serving as a senior officer for assignments to the headquarters of the 3rd Siberian Army Corps .

Army Service of the UPR
After the revolution and the declaration of independence of the Ukrainian People's Republic, he volunteered for the Ukrainian army.
In February-April 1918 - a senior officer of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the UPR. In 1918 - a member of the committee on the organization of the Ukrainian army of the Ministry of Defense of the UPR. Crown General .
After the overthrow of Hetman P. Skoropadsky , the liquidation of the Ukrainian state and the restoration of the Ukrainian People's Republic , he was a member of the Military Scientific Committee, the Commission for the Education of Military Schools and Academies.
Head of the 2nd quartermaster general of the UPR Army headquarters (since 01/21/1919). Head of the General Staff of the Army of the UPR (since 02.1919). From February 1919 - Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the UNR Army.
In 1919, he was a member of the Headquarters of the Chief Ataman S. Petlyura , head of the second quartermaster of the General Staff of the UNR Army.
One of the authors approved in June 1918 by the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian State of the Law on officers' ranks.
On his initiative, the ranks of the officers canceled by the Central Rada and the Directorate of the UPR were restored, in particular, the titles of generals were introduced.
He initiated the creation in the divisions of the attestation commissions, which were entrusted with the consideration of questions about increasing the senior officers in the rank.
In November 1919 he arrived in Odessa, where he fell ill with typhoid fever and died in the city hospital. December 23, 1919 was buried at the military site of the New Cemetery.
