Pyotr Atoyan Stadium

“The Peter Atoyan Stadium” ( Kaz. Petr Atoyan atyndaнy stadium ) is the stadium of the Akzhayik football club. It was opened in 1927 [1] .

The capacity of the stadium is 8,320 seats. Since 1996, bears the name of Honorary Citizen of Uralsk Pyotr Atoyan .

Content

History

The stadium is the oldest of all currently operating in Kazakhstan. It was opened on May 29, 1927 by a match between the city team and the cavalry regiment team.

All Ural football clubs that participated in the championships of the USSR , and later Kazakhstan , organized their home meetings at this stadium.

There are also competitions in athletics on an urban and regional scale.

At different times, the stadium hosted competitions in ball hockey , basketball and handball .

The biggest event was the holding of the world championship in ice hockey among younger youths in 1998 [2] .

Reconstruction

In 2003, the stadium was renovated. It was planned to conduct it in accordance with all international standards, but later the decision was canceled.

To date, the grass cover of the stadium is considered one of the best in the country.
