Fløryo ( Norwegian Florø ) is a town in the western part of Norway , in the county of Sogn og Fjordane . It is the administrative center of the municipality of Floura . The city was founded by royal order in 1860 on the island of Florelandet. Fløre is the most western city of Norway and, accordingly, the most western city of the Scandinavian Peninsula . On January 1, 1964, municipalities such as Kinn, Eikefjord, and Bru became part of the city, from that moment Flourё received the status of a municipality. In 2012, the second semi-final of the Melodi Grand Prix competition was held in the city, and the second semi-final of the competition will also be held in 2013. [one]
