Kladowski Grad or Fetislam is a fortress in Serbia , located on the banks of the Danube a few kilometers from Kladov. It was erected by the Turks in 1524 as a bridgehead for the capture of border Hungarian regions and the invasion of Transylvania. In addition, the fortress also performed a defensive function along with such fortresses as Smederevo , Kulich, Ram and Golubac . During the Austro-Turkish wars in 1717-1737 , the fortress again became an important military center, was expanded and received six new bastions. She experienced another increase and strengthening in 1818 , after two Serbian uprisings. In 1867, along with six other fortresses, it was transferred to Prince Mikhail Obrenovich .

Archaeological and conservation work was carried out in the fortress in 1973 - 1977 and in 1981 - 1984 . After the construction of the Jerdap II hydroelectric power station, the fortress was partially flooded. It is currently under state protection as a cultural monument.
