Career

At the 1924 Olympics in Chamonix, he competed in cross-country skiing and biathlon . In biathlon he won a silver medal, 0.687 points behind the winner of his teammate Torleif Houg and 0.367 points behind his other compatriot Johan Grettumsbroten . In skiing, he spoke only a 50 km race, in which the podium of the biathlon competitions was completely repeated, Strömstad also became the second to lose to Torleif Haug and ahead of Johann Grettumsbroten.

At the national level, Strömstad twice became the champion of Norway, in 1919 and 1923 .
