Biography
Vladimir Konstantinovich Vasiliev was born on July 15, 1886 .
In 1907 he graduated from the mechanics department of the Marine Engineering School in Kronstadt and was promoted to sub-lieutenant of the Corps of Marine Engineers .
In 1913 he graduated from the shipbuilding department of the Nikolaev Naval Academy , was promoted to the rank of mechanical engineer, senior lieutenant.
He worked in the General Directorate of Shipbuilding, then taught at the Marine Engineering School and at the Naval Academy.
In 1924-1931 he took part in the creation of the first turbines for Soviet warships.
In 1932-1934 he was one of the founders and the first dean of the faculty of ship machinery of the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute . . [one]
From 1930 to 1942 he was the head of the department of ship steam turbines of the LCI.
Since 1934 - professor, in 1939 he defended his doctoral dissertation,
In 1947-1949 - Head of the Department of Ship Gas Turbines and Deputy Rector of LCI.
In 1949-1956 he was the head of the department of steam and gas turbines at the Naval Academy.
In 1956-1971 - head of the department at the North-West Polytechnic Institute.
He died in 1983.
