The magazine prints poetry , prose , journalism , literary-critical, historical, scientific and other materials of Chechen writers and scholars .
It began to be published in 1958. At different times, its chief editors were well-known Chechen writers such as Magomet Mamakayev , Shaykhi Arsanukaev , Alvadi Shaykhiev , Musa Akhmadov (from 1991 to 1993) and poet Ilman Yusupov (from 1993 to 1994).
After a break related to the war , the publication of the magazine was resumed in 1995. The editor-in-chief was the writer Islam Elsanov. The second time the publication was resumed after the second military campaign . The magazine was headed by journalist Satsita Yusupova.
Currently, the editor-in-chief is the writer, literary critic and translator Elbrus Minkailov .
