Hohhot Baita International Airport ( Chinese trad. 呼和浩特 白塔 國際 機場 , Exercise 呼和浩特 白塔 国际 机场 , Pinyin : Hūhéhàotè Báitǎ Guójì Jīcháng ), ( IATA : HET , ICAO : ZBHH ) is a civilian airport located 14 kilometers away east of the central part of the city of Hohhot ( Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region ), China . The largest commercial airport in the region.

The port received the name “Byte” according to the historical monument “White Pagoda”, located five kilometers to the south-east.
Content
History
Hohhot Byte Airport was opened on October 1, 1958. Since the mid-1980s and in the 1990s, work has been carried out to expand the infrastructure of the air harbor twice, and in June 2007 a new building of the passenger terminal of the airport was built. The terminal covers an area of 54,499 m², operates 11 telescopic ladders and is designed for a capacity of three million passengers annually. In addition, the airport runway was increased, the size of which now allowed to receive and send the world's largest passenger airliner Airbus A380 .
Currently, Hohhot Baita International Airport is connected to 28 cities of China with twenty-six regular air routes, and also serves regular international flights to Ulaanbaatar and charter flights to airports in Hong Kong , South Korea , Russia and Thailand .
Tianjin Airlines (Tianjin Airlines) opened on July 8, 2018 direct international flights between the city of Hohhot and Moscow. [one]
