Biography

He studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Guy Johnson and Guido Agosti . In 1968 he began an active concert activity, debuting both in London and in New York , at Carnegie Hall . In the years 1971-1988, he served as a pianist at the residence at University College in Cardiff .

He toured in the USA, Russia, Canada, in Central and South America; among other things performed:

  • D. Shostakovich Concert No. 1 with the London Festival Orchestra,
  • Rhapsody on the topic of Paganini S. Rachmaninov ,
  • Rhapsody in the style of blues J. Gershwin with the Halle Orchestra ,
  • Concert for piano B. Britten
  • A. Schoenberg Piano Concerto with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra,
  • Concert No. 1 K. Sharvenki .

In his repertoire are also not often executed:

  • Piano Concerto F. Busoni (performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra )
  • Piano Concert
  • 3rd concert of A. Hoddinott (premiere of the new edition in the BBC Prom Concert , 1974).

He made many records, including albums with complete collections of solo piano music by Felix Mendelssohn , Johannes Brahms , Claude Debussy , Enrique Granados , Karol Szymanovsky and Percy Granger , as well as a number of works by Ferruccio Busoni , Joaquin Nin , Hans Gall and others not so often authors; "Skillful and tireless" called Jones magazine " Billboard " (in connection with four discs of music Szymanowski) [2] .
