Biography

She was born on September 4 (17), 1906 in Moscow, studied at the city school, then at the Stroganov school . After the family left Moscow and settled in the village of Koskovo near Moscow, they had to leave school. Returning to Moscow, Lyubov Fedorovna worked as a journalist, traveled around the country a lot, and wrote about rural workers.

The first poems were published in Komsomolskaya Pravda , the first book of short stories Shurka was published in 1940 . Then books about the war followed, including the novel “A Girl from the City”.

Voronkova’s tales are always deeply consonant with what her readers live in this period of time. Many of them are documentary. For example, the Altai Tale is about the life of young gardeners in the Altai Mountains [1] .

She wrote the last years of her life on a historical topic: about the childhood and youth of the Macedonian king, about his conquests. After a trip to Central Asia, Lyubov Fedorovna wrote a book about the life of Uzbek children, "Garden under the Clouds."

She died on January 20, 1976 . She was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovsky cemetery (plot number 2).
