General Information
Robert in tennis since three years. Favorite cover is hard, best hit is serve.
Between a short career in the junior round and a complete switch to the protest competition, Fara played for several years in the NCAA tennis league, where he won the team trophy twice as part of his university team in these competitions.
Sports career
At the tournaments of the Futures series, Farah started playing in 2003, but won the first victory at these tournaments only in 2010. In the same year he manages to win the single and double tournament from the Challenger series in Bogota . Also this season, Farah made his debut for the Colombian national team in the qualifying round of the Davis Cup . In February 2011, he will make his debut in the main draw of the ATP tournament singles , playing at the tournament in San Jose . In 2011, at the XVI Summer Pan-American Games, Farah managed to win both singles and doubles. In August of the same year, Robert, having passed the qualification for the US Open, played for the first and only time in the main draw of singles at tournaments from the Grand Slam series . In the first round, he lost to the Frenchman Nicolas May . Having taken the first two sets of this match, then he lost three in a row and was defeated.
In April 2012, he reached the third round of the tournament in Barcelona , losing only to the winner of the tournament, Rafael Nadal . In July, paired with compatriot Santiago Giraldo, Robert reached the finals of the pair tournament of the tournament in Gstaad . Fara achieves the main titles and results in the men's pair in partnership with compatriot Juan Sebastian Cabal . In January 2013, their Colombian duo reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open . In May, Juan Sebastian and Robert played in the finals of the dirt tournament in Nice . They reached the next ATP final in January 2014 at a hard tournament in Brisbane . In February, they also reached the finals of the tournament in Viña del Mar. Two weeks after this, Cabal and Farah won the first ATP title in their careers, winning it at a tournament in Rio de Janeiro . A series of good performances continued for the Colombian duo in March, when they reached the finals twice. First at the tournament in Sao Paulo , and then at the Masters series tournament in Miami . In August, Cabal and Farah won their second title of the season at a Winston-Salem tournament.
In February 2015, Cabal and Farah became the winners of the tournament in Sao Paulo. This result allowed Robert to rise to 21st place in the doubles rating. The next joint title they achieved in May at a tournament in Geneva . In July, the Colombian duo twice reached the finals at tournaments in Bostad and Hamburg . In another ATP final, they played in October at a tournament in Tokyo .
In February 2016, Cabal and Farah won two titles at once in tournaments in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. In May of that year, they reached the final of the tournament in Munich and won the doubles title at the tournament in Nice. In October, Farah at Wimbledon reached the Grand Slam finals in mixed doubles. Speaking in an alliance with the German Anna-Lena Grönefeld , Fara stopped a step away from the title, losing in the decisive match to the duet Heather Watson and Henry Continen . at the Olympics , which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Juan Sebastian and Robert were able to get only in the second round. At the US Open, Grönefeld and Fara went to the semifinals in the mixed doubles competition. In October, Kabal and Farah won the hall hard tournament in Moscow .
In February 2017, together with Cable, Farah defended last year's doubles title in Buenos Aires. At the tournament in Rio de Janeiro, the Colombian duo played in the final.
At the Australian Open 2018 tennis , paired with Juan Sebastian Cabal, they reached the finals, where they lost to Oliver Marah and Mate Pavic . This is the best achievement of the Colombian duo on the courts of Melbourne.
