Geography
The village is located on the banks of the Pechora River .
History
The settlement of Novy Bor was formed by the inhabitants of the village of Ust-Tsilma, and the founder is considered to be Ivan Durkin. At the end of the 19th century, the terrain of the future settlement was chosen as a territory to increase its farms. In 1931, the village consisted of several huts. In the early 1930s, the population of the village grew at the expense of people from barges heading along Pechora. The main contingent of new residents consisted of special settlers from the Arkhangelsk and Vologda regions . Later the Germans were settled from central Russia. Many residents of the village worked at the Novy Bor state farm, which supplied food to the Vorkuta miners until the 90s. In the village lived and worked Hero of the Soviet Union Sergei Mikhailovich Cherepanov [2] .
In 2008, residents celebrated the 100th anniversary of the village [3] .
Economy
In the village, LLC Novy Bor worked, whose main activity is the production of meat, milk, butter, sour cream, cottage cheese. Also, the organization was engaged in maintaining winter roads, baking bread and preparing firewood and fodder.
