Crater Description
In the northeast of the crater is the Archimedes crater; in the southeast - the mountains of Archimedes ; in the west-southwest - the craters Feye and Baer . In the area of the crater are the furrows of Archimedes [1] .
The selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater are , diameter - 12.5 km [2] , depth - 2.49 km [3] .
The crater has a cup-shaped shape with a small area of a flat bottom, with virtually no signs of destruction. The height of the shaft above the surrounding area is 490 m [4] . A narrow lowering stretches from the southeastern part of the rampart towards the Archimedes mountains.
According to morphological characteristics, the crater belongs to the Bio type (by the name of the Bio crater, which is a characteristic representative of this type).
Before receiving its own name in 1976, the crater was designated Archimedes A (in the designation system of the so-called satellite craters located in the vicinity of the crater, which has its own name).
Satellite Craters
