The Oka River flows 3.5 km west of the village.
History
The village is mentioned in the preferential deed of Tsar John IV Vasilyevich the Terrible , granted to Serpukhov Vvedensky Vladychny Monastery in 1559 [2] :
... they gave them to the house of the Most Holy Theotokos, in Torus County, two villages of Iskan da Volkovichi, and against those two villages took them for themselves, in Pereslavl County, the village of Tatarinovo with villages
