Vainakh is a monthly literary and artistic magazine published in Grozny . Published since 1991. Originally called "Literary Chechen-Ingushetia." The first editor was the poet Alvadi Shaykhiev . Subsequently, Berdukaev , Khamzat Sarakaev , Ramzan Baysultanov became editors . In 2002, the publication received its current name. From 2004 to the present, the chief editor is the poet and writer, people's writer of the Chechen Republic Musa Akhmadov . First Deputy Editor-in-Chief Lidia Dovletkireeva .

Vainakhs - the name of an ethnic community that includes Chechens , Ingush , Akkins , Batsbians , Kistins . This community gave the name to the magazine.
The magazine is published in Russian (80 pages) and Chechen (16 pages). Circulation of 2,500 copies , A4 format .
The magazine acquaints readers with the processes taking place in modern Chechen literature , and contributes to the preservation of traditions , history, culture , and language. The works of Chechen authors are printed, both translated into Russian and created in Chechen or Russian. The magazine publishes works by well-known authors in the republic: Shaykhi Arsanukaev , Khamzat Sarakayev , Musa Beksultanov , Rosa Talkhigova and others. As well as the classics of Chechen literature: Said Baduev , Magomet Mamakayev , Abuzar Aydamirova . Critical articles and reviews of well-known literary scholars and critics in the republic are also published.
Works are published on the Chechen language, history, traditional ethics and culture of the people, fragments of dissertation research in the field of the humanities. The magazine also informs about significant cultural events, introduces new books. On the cover are reproductions of works by Chechen artists . The heading “To our illustrations” contains information about the authors of these paintings and their creative biographies.
The column “Voices of Friends” introduces the work of writers and poets from other regions of Russia, from countries near and far abroad. Creative meetings are held between writers, cultural figures and readers, and “round tables” on problems of literature. Members of the editorial board go to forums, conferences, meetings.
In 2003, the editors of Vainakh magazine established the first literary prize after the events in Chechnya. This award was subsequently awarded to Abuzar Aidamirov, Shaykhi Arsanukaev, Khamzat Sarakaev, Musa Beksultanov, Said Gatsaev . The aim of the award is to support gifted authors who write in their native language, as well as scholars of Chechen language and folklore .
In 2007, at the Press 2007 exhibition in Moscow , Vainakh magazine received the Grand Prix of the Priority National Projects in the Press Mirror contest for comprehensive professional coverage of the implementation of priority national projects.
