The club was founded on the basis of the Ivano-Frankivsk Institute of Management and Economics “Galician Academy” . The team immediately entered the newly formed Ukrainian Professional Basketball League (UPBL) and in its first season took 6th place out of 10 teams. In the next season (2009/10), the club's management, after consulting with representatives and leaders of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, decided to rename the team from the “Galician Academy” to “BC Frankivsk” [1] .
In the second season of UPBL ( 2011 ), the team took 4th place: Kiev won Dynamo 75:72 in the quarterfinal of the Final Eight, 75:72 lost to the future Ukrainian champion Kiev in the semifinals - 55:78, in the match for 3 Ivano-Frankivsk basketball players lost their place to Zaporizhzhya Kozachka - 74:95.
After the dissolution of the UPL, the team in the 2011/12 season became part of the Premier League and here it repeated the result of last season - 4th place, losing the series for 3rd place to Tim-Skuf - 1-2. Also this season, “BC Frankivsk” made its debut in the international competition “Baltic League” , where the club was disgraced by the fact that, speaking in the tournament, he did not pay the entry fee. The League Executive Committee credited her with two technical losses (0-20), for which the team did not receive points [2] .
In the 2012/13 season, the team finished the championship in last 6th place, winning just 2 matches out of 30.
The 2014/15 season was the most successful in the history of the club; basketball players won bronze medals of the national championship. In the series for 3rd place, “Vinnitsa Bliskavki” was beaten - 2-1. The next season, in the series for 3rd place, BC Frankivsk met again with Vinnitsa Bliskavka, but this time the round was lost - 0-2.
