Bengt Jangfeldt ( Swede. Bengt Jangfeldt ; November 22, 1948 , Stockholm , Sweden ) - Swedish literary critic - Russian writer , translator and publisher. Professor, Department of Slavic Studies, Stockholm University , 1989–2000 - Editor of the magazine "Artes", published jointly by the Royal Academy of Music , the Royal Academy of Liberal Arts and the Swedish Academy [1] .

Biography

B. Yangfeldt is the author of a number of books and studies on Russian literature and published in Sweden and abroad, including the compiler of the correspondence of V.V. Mayakovsky and L. Yu. Brick, “Love is the heart of everything,” published in 1982 , 1986 and 1991 in Russian and English.

He was the editor of the journal Russian Cultural Review, which was published four times a year and introduced readers to Russian literature and culture.

He was a longtime friend and publisher of Joseph Brodsky , translated several of his poems and the play "Marble" into Swedish, and is also the author of memoirs about the poet.

Wife - actress and singer Elena Yangfeldt-Yakubovich .

In some publications it is accused of appropriating four paintings by Kazimir Malevich , which belonged to N. I. Khardzhiev [2] .

Awards and Prizes

  • Twice a laureate of one of the main literary prizes in Sweden - the August Prize , in 1998 for the book "Swedish Ways to St. Petersburg" and in 2007 for the book "Bet - Life: Vladimir Mayakovsky and his circle."
  • Laureate of the Langman Culture Fund.
