The Drama Theater of the Eastern Military District is a drama theater in the city of Ussuriysk, Primorsky Territory , a branch of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army .

The Drama Theater of the Eastern Military District is a departmental institution of culture of the Russian (formerly Soviet ) army ( Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation ) , and graduates of theatrical universities work in it .

The theater works in the House of Officers of the Ussuri garrison, in a large building of "Stalin" construction (city monument of architecture). The number of seats is 960. The Officers House also has a museum, a cinema for 240 seats, a sports hall, a billiard room, a dance hall, and a library with free internet access. ^[1] ^[2]

History of the Drama Theater of the Eastern Military District

In the 1930s, a theater studio was created in the Voroshilov House of the Red Army, which was directed by Firs Efimovich Shishigin ^[3]

From 1928 to 1954, the Voroshilov House of the Red Army was located in the building of the People’s House, ul. Volodarsky 22 .

1937 - on the basis of the studio, the theater of the 1st Special Red Banner Far Eastern Army was created , Firs Shishigin - the first chief director of the theater.
1941 - evacuated actors of the Stalin (Donetsk) comedy theater joined the theater , the united team was headed by Alexander Semyonovich Larsky, who came from Ukraine.

During the years of World War II, the theater continued to operate, in 1945 it gave performances at the front to the fighters who participated in the Manchurian operation .

1952 - tour in China , the theater gave performances to Soviet fighters in Port Arthur .

In the postwar years, the theater toured a lot, traveling to remote garrisons, border outposts.
