Big Stage Competition (Azerbaijan)

The goal of the project is to discover new names in the country's musical sky, to introduce viewers to the “fresh wave” of vocal talents and to light new stars worthy of the big world scene. To give them the opportunity to work with the best European and world experts in show business, and after going through all the stages, perform in a grand show to an international star jury.

The project is created by an international team with the participation of the best European music producers, musicians, composers, stars, coaches in vocals, choreography and acting.

"The Big Stage" is not just a talent show, it is an opportunity to become an established performer in a very short time.

In order to find the most talented vocalists of the country, on December 24, 2012, registration began for participation in the castings of the show "The Big Scene" on boyuksehne.com. Castings were held in 4 cities of Azerbaijan - Lankaran , Ganja , Sheki and Baku .

More than five hundred talented performers attended the auditions, according to the results of which the 50 best were selected, who went to the next stage of the project.

Casting Rules

• Any singer, singer or group who is 16 years old at the time of the casting and who is a citizen of Azerbaijan at the time of the Big Stage show can take part in the casting.
• The number of participants in the group should not exceed 6 (six) people.
• At the casting, the singer, singer (group) should be ready to perform two compositions:

one in Azerbaijani and one in English.

• Singer, singer (group) must provide for his performance at the casting

phonograms of the compositions that he will perform without recorded vocals and back vocals (phonogram “minus”, without any kind of recorded vocal performance on the phonogram).

The format of the television show was developed by Euromedia in collaboration with the ATV channel. Unlike television shows, the main purpose of which are ratings, intrigues and not always justified sensations, the task of the “Big Stage” is to show the country's viewers how artists prepare in the professional world of show business.

According to the results of the initial castings, 50 best performers are selected, who pass to the next stage of the show - Supercasting. Supercasting determines the 12 best performers who will be held in the semi-finals of the show. As a result, three of them will have the opportunity to prepare under the creative guidance and care of renowned European producers for 4 weeks.

Three superfinalists will have the opportunity to record a song written specially for them by the composer, to shoot their own clip. In the superfinal of the show, they will appear in a new image and staged on the Big Stage and then everyone will find out who will become the winner of the show and the holder of the title "King of the Big Stage".

Show Jury

The jury of supercasting and semi-finals will be 7 people and will be constantly updated by respected experts known in Azerbaijan and around the world. Such a number of diverse show business professionals has not been previously involved in any song contest! Thanks to the joint work of professionals from different countries, generations, trends and styles, as well as an independent electronic voting system, the project team expects to identify bright personalities and evaluate each contestant as objectively as possible, ensuring the impartiality and professionalism of the selection process.

The idea of ​​the project belongs to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan , is being implemented by Euromedia. The show will be broadcast on ATV.

Euromedia Company has been providing services for the technical implementation of television and concert projects, as well as the management of artists in Europe and the CIS for more than 10 years.

Among other things, the company's portfolio includes: debut, participation and victory of Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest (2008-2012), the all-Ukrainian concert tour “Love with Naked” on the eve of UEFA EURO 2012 , technical support of “EURO 2012 Final Party”.

Castings of this season took place throughout the country from January 9 to 13, 2014 in the cities of Azerbaijan. Castings took place in the cities of Sumgayit , Ganja , Lankaran , Yevlakh , Shirvan , Sheki , Guba , Baku . Based on the results of the castings, 14 participants of the first stage of the competition were selected. ^[2] . The jury at the qualifying stage consisted of Salekh Bagirov, Sevda Alekperzade , Ilham Gasimova , Gulchohra Shafieva, Tunzali Gahraman. ^[3] .

Season Participants

14 participants were selected to participate in the television phase of the season: Fuad Asadov, Safa Eldar, Wave Wave, Dilara Kyazimova, Khan Hasanova, Valery Huseynzade (Rilaya), Elton Ibrahimov, Samira Efendieva, Aydin Eyvazzade, Aishebayim Shabanova, Aishebayim Shabanova, Aishebayim Shabanova, Aishebayim Shabanova, Aishebayim Shabanova, Aishheimim Nagiyeva, Erkin Osmanly and Ulya Ibadova. ^[four]

Show Progress

The first stage was held on February 09, 2014. The jury of the first broadcast includes Eldar Gasimov , Zumrud Dadashzade, Mubariz Tagiyev , Tunzal Agayev , Murad Arif . As a result of which 4 participants Safa Eldar, Ishebeyim Nagiyeva, Lala Sultan, the Wave group dropped out of the participation. ^[five]

The second stage of the show was held on February 16, 2014. The jury of the second stage included Eldar Gasimov , Tunzal Agayev , Sabina Babaeva , Zumrud Dadashzade, Faik Sudzhaddinov . According to the results of the second stage of the show, Ulya Ibadova, Valeria Huseynzade, Aydin Eyvazzade, Fuad Asadov left. ^[6]

The third stage of the show was held on February 23, 2014. Following the results of the third stage (semifinal), the show was left by Azad Shabanov, Elton Ibragimov and Samira Efendieva. The jury of the semi-final included jazz singer Tunzalya Gahraman, producer, poet Zahra Badalbeyli, Azerbaijani TV presenter Murad Dadashov, director Fuad Aliyev and composer Dimitris Kontopulos (Greece). ^[7] .

The final show was 03/02/2014. The winner of the show was Dilara Kyazimova . As a result of the show, she won the right to represent Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen. ^[eight]

The jury of the final evening included the director of the Public Television Channel of Azerbaijan (ITV), the chairman of the jury, Jamil Guliyev, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Tunzal Agayev , Eldar Gasimov, composer Murad Arif and Swedish composer Stefan Orn ^[9] .

Throughout the project, starting with the first television broadcast, an international professional team consisting of choreographer Roman Dmitrikh, vocal teachers Aina Wilberg , Tatyana Ostrovskaya, Alena Savinova, stage director Viktor Knish, and stylist Lyudmila Konstantinova has been working with the participants.
