Biography
He was born on October 2 ( October 15 according to the new style) in 1915 in the village. Malaya Ogaryovka of the Russian Empire, now the Teplo-Ogaryov district of the Tula region, in a peasant family. Russian
He graduated from 7 classes and Arzamas College of Agricultural Mechanization (according to other sources - Theological Agricultural College [1] ). He worked as the head of the general department of the district executive committee, instructor of the district committee of the Komsomol . In the Red Army since 1937 , member of the CPSU (b) since 1937.
With the beginning of World War II in the army. Major Peter Danilov, assistant to the chief of the political department of the 3rd Army of the Belarusian Front for work among Komsomol members, did a great job in February 1944 to prepare the party and Komsomol organizations of the 283rd Infantry Division to force the Dnieper . On the bridgehead by personal example, he raised the soldiers to attack. He was wounded, but did not leave the battlefield.
He died in battle on February 21, 1944 . He was buried in the mass grave of Soviet soldiers in the village of Dovsk in the Rogachev district of the Gomel region. In 1958, a monument — a sculpture of P. A. Danilov [2] was erected on the mass grave.
Rewards
- The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded posthumously on July 23, 1944 .
