Biography
Orthodox. From hereditary nobles .
He graduated from the 2nd Moscow Cadet Corps (1867) and the Mikhailovsky Artillery School (recorded on a marble board, 1870), released as a second lieutenant in the 1st cavalry artillery brigade. In 1874 he was transferred to the 2nd Battery of the Guards Horse-Artillery Brigade .
Ranks: Lieutenant (1871), Second Lieutenant of the Guard (1874), Lieutenant (1875), Staff Captain (1875), Captain of the General Staff (1878), Lieutenant Colonel (1878), Colonel (for Difference, 1881), Major General (for Difference , 1891), Lieutenant-General (for the difference, 1900), General from Infantry (for the difference, 1908).
He graduated from the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff (on the 1st category).
In the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878 he commanded a rapid-fire battery. For military distinctions awarded the Order of St. Vladimir 4th degree with swords and bow, St. Anne 2nd degree with swords and St. Stanislav 2nd degree with swords.
In 1878 he was transferred to the General Staff with the appointment of an assistant head of the Asian part of the General Staff and in the same year he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. In the years 1880-1885 was among the headquarters officers of the General Staff, laid on the staff at the General Staff. In 1885, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the 3rd Grenadier Division , and the following year - to the same position in the 37th Infantry Division . Then he commanded the Life Guard 2nd Rifle Battalion (1891–1895) and the Life Guard Finnish Regiment (1895–1899)
In 1899 he was appointed chief of staff of the Guards Corps , and in 1900 - promoted to lieutenant general with the appointment of the head of the 2nd Guards Infantry Division . From June 7, 1904 to October 26, 1905, he was chief of staff of the guard troops and the St. Petersburg Military District . Then he commanded the 12th (1906-1908) and 16th (1908) army corps.
From December 24, 1908 was the honorary guardian of the Board of Trustees of the institutions of the Empress Maria in the St. Petersburg presence.
He died in 1910.

He was married to Elizabeth Vladimirovna Neklyudova. Their children [1] :
- Alexander (? —1914), graduated from the Pavlovsk Military School (1901), captain of the Life Guards 1st Rifle Regiment . He died from wounds, was buried at the Tsarskoye Selo brotherly cemetery . [2]
- Nicholas (? —After 1954), graduated from the Corps of Pages (1905), Captain of the Life Guards of the Ulansky Majesty Regiment . In emigration to Abyssinia [3] .
