Ruth White ( born Ruth White , April 24, 1914 - December 3, 1969) is an American actress [1] . She gained fame thanks to roles on the Broadway stage in the forties of the last century and was one of the pioneers of the golden age of television. Although she worked actively, White made her debut on the big screen only in 1957 in the film “ On the Outskirts of the City ” [1] and spent most of the sixties playing supporting roles in various films.

White won an Emmy Award for her role in the television movie The Little Moon of Alabama. [2] In 1968, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a supporting play in the play for the production of The Birthday Party , and in 1962 she won Obie for her role in the play Happy Days [3] . Ruth White died of cancer in 1969 [1] .
