Biography
Born on June 9 ( June 22 in a new style) in 1902 in Rostov-on-Don [1] in the family of a musician . Jew .
In 1920-1922 he studied at the Baku Conservatory (piano class of N. D. Nikolaev ).
In 1931 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in composition with R. M. Glier .
He began his creative activity in the 1920s, created a number of works on folklore material, including Jewish .
In the 1930s and 1940s gravitated to a mass song of predominantly marching character.
Kompaneyets worked as a musical consultant to the magazine " Soviet Gameland " and one of its authors.
He died in 1987 in Moscow. He was buried at Vostryakovsky cemetery .
Rewards
- Honored Artist of the RSFSR ( 1980 ).
